It was his turn to seek her out. He was still far more adept at tracking then her, it was nearly effortless to track her down. Even as the miles grew. Today was different. Her sweet perfume called to him, stronger than ever, beckoning him ever closer. He'd tasted every inch of her sinful body, he was not particularly keen on letting her slip from his grasp. His lengthy strides ate up the distance despite his lazy swagger. Nostrils flared, sucking in crisp air as ears swiveled, capturing any clues as to where she might be. Amethyst hues scanned the trees, seeking all the places where the sun chased away the shadows. She craved the suns warmth. Like a flower, reliant on its power to survive, yet so easily crushed by the world around her. Toes splayed, quieting his steps to nearly inaudible levels. A monster in the shades, he stalked his prey, intent on reminding her of just where she belonged.

It wasn't hard to find her. Her ivory coat stood out in a ray of sunshine, a drop of purity against the trees. But he knew better than to think of her as sinless. Not anymore... Clinging to the shadows, he approached her from behind. A low growl rising in his throat, eyes narrowing to dangerous slits. A smirk danced across dark kissers, fangs tried in vain to peek out, leaving only glimpses. Victory settled like a mask onto chiseled features.

He'd halt, only half his body set ablaze in the sunlight, the rest of his remaining in the shadows. Where he belonged. "Hello, love." Deep baritones rolled easily off his tongue, parting his jaws like distant thunder rolling in. He itched to move closer, to consume her. But he remained where he was, several feet from her, tail curling about his hips as his skull rested comfortable above his shoulders, jaws tipped down slightly. Lavender gaze greedily drank her in, finding not a hair out of place.

She turned, coral gaze warming at the sight of him. His name rolled off her tongue, like tattered silk. Still, the brute did not move. But he did not have to. She rose to dainty paws, closing the distance between them before dropping to his feet. Smug satisfaction stretched his lips, his hooded gaze following her down. He simply watched as she rose, snaking her way beneath him. She considered it to be her safe place, where she could never be harmed. But is one really safe in the clutches of a monster? She is not without her scars, scars gifted to her by none other than himself.

She arched against him, pressing into his chest as her neck craned, pale jaws eagerly parting to lap his chin. A rumble of approval hung between them. And I you. Deep baritones rumbled. A mere morsel of attention, nothing more and nothing else. Though he missed her for all the wrong reasons. A ripple of lust brushed against his flesh, softly demanding more. Dark jaws brushed the fine lines of her throat, teasing the vein that thudded just beneath the surface. 

Without a second thought, he dragged the shadows closer, dark tendrils wrapping her bodice in a vice like grip before releasing her in favor of plunging her darkness, stealing her sense of sight. Have you been enjoying yourself? He hummed, tongue flicking out lash briefly at the shell of her ear. With a cruel twist, he'd step away from her, fully intending to leave her blind and without his touch. The magic flowed deliciously through his veins, burning with its use. An oh so sweet burn. Without me? He circled her, his steps silent. 

A soft whine parted her lips, like music to his ears. Her world was plunged into darkness, leaving her without so much as a shoulder to lean on. Her petite frame sank to the ground, melting into an ivory puddle. Victory shone in his gaze. She had in fact not been enjoying her romp of solitude. Not that he had expected her to. She depended on him far more than she should. Foolish girl. But by the same token, her dependency would ensure that she never strayed. Her naive ways landed her in a trap and she had no idea. He strayed from, allowing feet to separate them. Will you stray again? Even though it was entirely his fault. He shamelessly cast the blame on her. Silent steps carried him around her. 

He continued to warp the shadows, though it was not yet as easy breathing. Muscles tightened with exertion. Dark tendrils reached out, lightly caressing her pale flesh, barely tickling the fine hairs. Ears careened forward, attentions entirely on her. His gaze glittered with sinful pleasure. Hmm... He'd press, from a short distance behind her. 

By cruel design, he left her stripped and alone, only just out of her reach. He was relentless in his game, toying with her like a cat with a mouse. It was a bitter sweet reunion, one that he craved yet his secret need was revolting. Lips wrinkled silently, fangs flashing in the sun light. He'd halt some distance from his pet, eyes blazing down at her. 

She grew anxious, flattening herself against the earth, a low whimper vibrating in her throat. But even that didn't stop denial from parting her lips. Lips twisted into a smirk, amusement softening his expression. He mere let a rumble roll off his tongue, a nonchalant dismissal of her words. Once again he was moving, drifting farther away from the left side of her. She was on her feet now, trying in vain to clear her vision. Soon his lips curled devilishly, her cry bouncing off the trees and echoing through the trees. Undoubtedly she was blind to the shadows he manipulated. Sharp eyes did not miss the tremble that wracked her frame as her words begged him to stop. 

He would relent, dragging the dark tendrils from her eyes to her throat before casting them aside completely and dropping the reins of control over his magic. He visibly relaxed, his body relieved to be rid of the weight of magic. The urge to test limits of his magic nipped at his skin. So far he had not tested his ability to breath life into nightmares on anyone of significance. He pinned her with a calculating gaze. She was safe for the time being. 

Shoulders rolled with each languid step. No words were offered, even as he slipped into the shadows, abandoning the clearing. Just like he's reminded of the delicate flower than she is. A weakness. Its bitter on his tongue. Nostrils flared, sucking in crisp air, in search of more resilient companion for the afternoon. An ear would occasionally flick back, listening for the quiet steps that would inevitably follow.

A plea not to leave shattered the quiet around them, caressing his senses and begging for his attention. A sigh parted his lips. She wished to stay, but she wanted him with her. Not a surprise. But did she forget? He would not be caged. Her pleas were simple, far from the little hellion that spurred him relentlessly until she reaped the consequences. Now she had a brutal reminder of where her boundaries were, lest she forget. Hesitation was brief, blink and it was gone. Perhaps it was because he hadn't entirely forgiven her, the wound still raw, but felt far less inclined to cater to her needs.

His pace would halt though, lingering for a moment as though he might actually return to her side. Neck craned as he looked over his shoulder, eyes glittering dangerously. He had plans. Plans that were far more important to him than her comfort. Lips twisted up in a half smirk, faint amusement crossing his visage. 

I'll be back. 

Without another word, he'd leave her. Disappearing into the shadows, not bothering to check if she was following or not. Eventually his little shadow would return to his side, one way or another.
